How to Choose the Right Lawn Mower For You

Choosing a lawn mower seems like an easy task, right? Whether you have a small patch of grass or a large estate with rolling green meadows, you still need something that cuts grass efficiently. There are, however, many different models to choose from and you may as well do a little research to find the one that best fits your needs, your garden and your budget.

  • Push Models: If you have a very small garden, you may consider getting a non-powered push lawn mower. They are much less expensive than powered models and provide great exercise for your arms and upper body! If you buy a push lawn mower remember that you will need to mow often as they can't cope with cutting long grass
  • Self-Propelled ModelsSelf-propelled mowers are great for hilly lawns and tougher terrain. Because these models take a lot of the hard pushing effort out of mowing your garden they are also great for people looking for a little extra convenience. They are also useful for large properties not suited to ride on models
  • Extra Features: Some lawn mowers are available with extra features which make mowing and maintaining your garden much easier. When shopping you might want to look out for features such as wheel height adjusters, wash out ports, variable mowing speeds and blade brakes. All of these features make maintaining your garden a more efficient and speedy process.
  • Consider your GardenBefore buying any lawn mower you should carefully consider the particular problems your garden presents. These considerations include size, any steep slopes, the number of obstacles to get around (such as trees or play equipment) and the density of your grass. If you choose a machine that is perfectly suited to your garden, caring for your garden should be a breeze.
